Saloon 1848

105 Main Street, Jackson, CA (209) 217-8097

Saloon 1848 occupies the 1857 Levy & Co. Building at 105 Main Street, one of Jackson’s most storied structures. The building has cycled through lives as a general store, a temporary county jail after the Great Jackson Fire of 1862, and several bars and clubs before Justin and Brandie Berenstein reopened it as a speakeasy-themed tavern. Inside, baroque ceiling tiles hang over two pool tables, a dart board, and jukeboxes on both levels, with live music and DJs on regular rotation. On weekends, the covered back patio hosts the Plate 88 pizza truck from the owners’ Pioneer restaurant.
