Choc-O-Latte

51 Main St, Sutter Creek, CA (209) 267-4411

Opened in November 2015 by sisters Fran Perry and Victoria Spainhower, Choc-O-Latte is a cozy neighborhood coffee shop on Sutter Creek’s Main Street. The sisters built the shop around the idea of a throwback cafe — a place where people put their devices away and actually visit with each other. Brown and cream walls, copper accents, and fairy lights set the mood.

Every drink is made to order on manual espresso machines using beans from Chocolate Fish Roasters, a boutique Sacramento roaster. The signature Choc-O-Latte is the star, but the menu covers hot and iced coffee, tea, lattes, and hot chocolate. The pastry case rotates through biscotti, scones, and a chocolate croissant-donut hybrid, while the chocolate side of the shop stocks truffles, peanut brittle, chocolate-dipped treats, and house peanut butter cups.

After their first year the shop moved one door down into a larger two-room storefront with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows — more room for the growing chocolate selection and a few extra seats. It’s a favorite morning stop for locals and a sweet detour for anyone strolling Main Street.
