Pardee Reservoir

An EBMUD recreation lake near Ione offering fishing for trout, bass, kokanee salmon, and catfish, plus boating, camping at 141 oak-studded campsites, and full-hookup RV sites, open February through November.

Pardee Reservoir is a popular recreation lake managed by the East Bay Municipal Utility District, situated off Stony Creek Road near Ione in Amador County. The lake is stocked with trout and kokanee salmon and supports healthy populations of black bass, catfish, crappie, and bluegill, making it a year-round draw for anglers. Boaters can rent motorboats and pontoons from the marina or launch cartop vessels like kayaks and canoes. Note that body contact with the lake is prohibited by state law — no swimming, water skiing, or personal watercraft are permitted on the water.

The reservoir’s two campgrounds offer 141 oak-studded sites with picnic tables and fire rings, plus 56 full-hookup RV sites that were recently renovated. Flush restrooms, laundry facilities, and two swimming pools round out the amenities. The 2026 season runs from February 13 through November 8. Reservations for campsites and RV sites can be made through Campspot or by calling (209) 763-5121 ext. 1.

Fishing

Year-round fishing for trout, brown trout, kokanee salmon, black bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill, and sunfish from shore or by boat. California fishing license required for ages 16 and up; up to four children 15 and under fish free with a licensed adult.

Season: mid-February through early November $8.25 fishing access fee per angler per day

Boating

Rent motorboats, pontoons, or bring your own vessel. Cartop launches available for kayaks, canoes, float tubes, and sculls.

Season: mid-February through early November $13 boat launch; $6 cartop launch; $13 vehicle entry

Camping

141 oak-studded campsites across two campgrounds, each with a picnic table and fire ring, plus 56 full-hookup RV sites with water, electric, and sewer. Flush restrooms and laundry facilities on-site.

Season: mid-February through early November $35/night standard campsite; $50/night RV site

Swimming Pools

Two swimming pools available for day-use visitors and campers.

Wednesday through Sunday, opening at 10 AM (summer months) $3.50 pool access wristband
