Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown preserves one of the most authentic railroad complexes in North America. The roundhouse, turntable, and vintage locomotives have starred in over 200 films and TV shows. Visitors can ride scenic excursion trains pulled by steam or diesel engines through the beautiful Sierra foothills, tour the working roundhouse, and explore exhibits about California’s railroad history. Special themed rides — holiday trains, murder mysteries, and more — make every visit unique.
