Volunteer Expo

The Volunteer Expo is hosted by the Preston Castle Foundation in Ione, offering community members the chance to learn about volunteer opportunities at the historic Preston Castle. Volunteers can get involved in a variety of committees, including conducting tours of the castle and grounds, planning and staffing Foundation events, completing minor repairs and upkeep, seeking grant opportunities, landscaping, marketing, and documenting the history of Preston Castle.

Preston Castle was constructed in 1894 as the administration building for the Preston School of Industry. The Preston Castle Foundation works to preserve and restore this landmark, relying on volunteers with diverse skills including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and landscapers.
