A Jackson landmark since the 1850s, the Globe Hotel occupies the corner of Main and Court streets. Originally built as Stampfli’s Hotel, the brick building survived the Great Jackson Fire of 1862 and was rebuilt the following year. It has operated under several names — Republic House, Carroll’s Hotel — before becoming the Globe Hotel around 1868.
