Billed as Amador’s only boutique lifestyle hotel, the Hanford House offers seventeen rooms and suites on Hanford Street in Sutter Creek, across a range of accommodation styles that suit everything from a quiet couples’ retreat to a full wedding weekend. Standard rooms feature queen beds, while Deluxe rooms on the ground floor offer California King beds, private balconies, and fireplaces. Premium rooms add heated bathroom floors, walk-in showers, and mini fridges. The showpiece is Sutter Creek’s only Penthouse — an adults-only suite with a California King bed, see-through two-way fireplace, two-person jetted Jacuzzi tub, walk-in rain shower, heated floors, and a private balcony overlooking the tin rooftops and Sierra Foothills. Four private Cottages with their own exterior entrances and designated parking are tucked into the grounds, including the Luxe Cottage with a freestanding clawfoot tub and a 250-square-foot rear deck with a private two-person hot tub. A standalone two-bedroom Bungalow on Hayden rounds out the property with a fully equipped kitchen — ideal for families or longer stays. Every room includes in-room fireplaces, original artwork from local artists, crafted bath products, and a complimentary glass of Amador County wine, with hot baked scones delivered each morning.
On-site, Element Kitchen & Bar brings farm-to-table comfort dining to Sutter Creek with farm-fresh produce, quality meats, and creative seasonal twists. Breakfast is served Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to noon, and dinner runs Wednesday through Saturday from 5 to 8 PM. Patio dining is available, and the restaurant draws both hotel guests and locals. Reservations are taken through Toast.
The Hanford House also serves as a premier event venue in the foothills. The Green Room accommodates 8 to 30 guests for meetings, private dining, and workshops, with AV hookups, AppleTV, and catering from Element. The property hosts weddings and elopements with room blocks for the full wedding party, and partners with nearby venues including The Gardens at Sutter Creek and Rancho Victoria.
