The Holiday Inn Express & Suites opened in January 2001 at the junction of Highway 49 South and Highway 88, giving Jackson its first nationally branded chain hotel. Owner Atul Patel developed the 51-room property on Clinton Road, and it has served as a reliable base for visitors to Amador County ever since. The hotel sits within walking distance of downtown historic Jackson and at the gateway to two of the region’s signature drives — Highway 49 through the Mother Lode and Highway 88 up to Kirkwood and Lake Tahoe.
All 51 rooms are smoke-free and spread across two floors. The complimentary Express Start Breakfast Bar runs from 6:30 to 9:30 AM each morning, and the property includes a fitness center, outdoor pool, sauna, hot tub, and free parking. There is no on-site restaurant, but Jackson’s Main Street dining scene is a short drive away, and the hotel’s meeting space makes it a workable option for small business gatherings or family reunions in the foothills.
From the Holiday Inn Express, guests are minutes from the Shenandoah Valley’s forty-plus wineries, the Kennedy Mine, the Amador County Museum, and Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort just three and a half miles away. Couples consistently rate the property highly — Booking.com reviewers have given it a 9.5 out of 10 — and its straightforward amenities and central location make it a practical choice whether you are here for a weekend of wine tasting, a summer trip to the lakes, or a winter drive up to Kirkwood ski resort.
