This website was nothing more than a proof of concept for a larger idea. It has been wildlly popular so I'm in the process of rebuilding it into something more robust, maintainable, and scalable.
Multi-vendor antique shop in a historic former car dealership, packed with vintage clothing, jewelry, glassware, furniture, vinyl records, and paper ephemera.
Vera’s This and That is one of Jackson’s most eclectic antique destinations, housed in a historic building at the start of Main Street that formerly served as a car dealership in the 1930s with a bowling alley upstairs. Today, ten different vendors fill the space with an ever-changing inventory that ranges from fine antique furniture and glassware to vintage clothing, costumes, wigs, and hats. Collectors will find cases of jewelry, pocket watches, wrist watches, and hunting knives alongside shelves of books, vinyl records, and kitchen items — there is genuinely something for every taste and era.
One of the shop’s standout offerings is its collection of paper ephemera, including vintage posters, canceled checks, and stock certificates that offer a tangible link to the Gold Country’s past. Amador County’s history as a center of hard-rock gold mining and early California commerce means that fascinating documents from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries still surface in the region, and Vera’s is one of the best places to find them. Open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the shop rewards a slow, careful browse — the kind of shopping experience where you walk in looking for nothing in particular and leave with something you never knew you needed.
