The Ed Hughes Memorial Arena is a covered multi-use arena located within Howard Park (Charles Howard Park) in Ione. The arena features a 200-by-250-foot dirt floor, grandstand seating, and an 800-amp lighting system, making it suitable for both daytime and evening events. Solar panels have been installed to offset energy costs.
The arena hosts rodeos, livestock shows, line dancing events, and community gatherings throughout the year. Its covered design provides shade and weather protection while maintaining an open-air feel. The facility is managed by the City of Ione and is available for rental.
