Cooper Vineyards is a family-owned estate winery in the Shenandoah Valley, where the Cooper family has farmed since 1919. Patriarch Dick Cooper, widely known as “the Godfather of Barbera” in California, planted the grape in the 1970s on a tip from Darrell Corti and helped put Amador County Barbera on the map. The winery, established in 2004, also produces Zinfandel, Primitivo, and Charbono, with a relaxed patio tasting experience overlooking the estate vineyards.
