TKC Vineyards

Founded in 1981 by Harold and Monica Nuffer, TKC Vineyards is named after their three children — Tierre, Karina, and Courtnay. Harold, a former rocket scientist at China Lake Naval Weapons Center, began making homemade wines in the early 1970s before planting vineyards in Amador County. The small family winery specializes in bold, old-world-style wines including Zinfandel, Mourvedre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Port, with daughter Karina taking over winemaking in 2006. Tucked four miles east of Plymouth down a quiet gravel road, TKC offers a relaxed, off-the-beaten-path tasting experience.
