11th Annual Start On Steiner Spring into Zin

Event Information

Amador County is home to some of the oldest and best Zinfandel vines in the country, and many of the wineries on Steiner Road use these vines to produce exquisite Zinfandel wines. Spring into Zin is a true celebration of this varietal that has a storied history in Amador County.

During the event, you will have the opportunity to explore the Steiner Road wineries and discover the finesse, elegance, history, and diversity of our unique terroir on Amador County’s First Wine Trail. The wineries of Steiner Road will be showcasing a selection of their wines with a focus on Zinfandel. Selections will range from old vines, to blends, current releases, and barrel tastings that will be perfectly paired with unique small food bites.

Ticket holders will be able to visit up to five of the eight participating wineries. Please select one winery as your starting location when purchasing your event tickets — that winery will have your event glasses, wristbands, and event passports.

Bella Grace Vineyards

Spring into the Zin experience with a variety of Zinfandel and Zinfandel blends at Bella Grace followed by a tease taste of a wine that is barrel-aging in our cave. As part of your Bella Grace experience, we offer a tasting of our olive oils, balsamic vinegars and gourmet salts. Enjoy a bruschetta layered with a blue cheese crema, char-grilled steak and topped with a Zinfandel/mushroom glaze. Discounts will be offered on select Bella Grace wines.

D’Agostini Wines

Join us at D’Agostini for a celebration of Zinfandel with a thoughtfully curated flight of four Zinfandel-based wines. Enjoy small, paired bites along the way, then step into the winery for a meet-and-greet with our winemaker, where you’ll learn more about our process and what makes Zinfandel shine here at D’Agostini Wines. A relaxed, behind-the-scenes tasting experience we can’t wait to share with you.

Dobra Zemlja Winery

Join us at Dobra Zemlja Winery (meaning ‘good earth’ in Croatian) as we celebrate all things Zinfandel in Amador County’s first wine cave! Enjoy a select flight of our ‘Big Amador Reds, No Lightweights’ paired with seasonally inspired mali (‘little’) bites that bring a taste of Croatia to Amador County. Guests will have the opportunity to experience a barrel tasting of an upcoming vintage of our Estate Zinfandel with our winemaker and owner, Milan Matulich. Event exclusive discounts will be offered on select wines.

Driven Cellars

Start your engines at DRIVEN Cellars celebrating Zinfandel! Come savor our delicious port-style dessert Zinfandel and 2020, 2021 and 2023 vintages. Barrel sample our 2024 Zinfandel too! You will also enjoy a tasting of our newly released Estate Primitivo Blanc. All of this with curated bite pairings by Mirkio’s Rotisserie. Relax on our patio with music by Fuller Sound. Explore the unique venue of cars and take in the beautiful views of the Sierra Nevada foothills. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Iron Hub Winery & Distillery

Join us at Iron Hub for a festive and flavorful celebration of Zinfandel! Relax on our patio and savor hand-crafted Zinfandel wines paired with curated bites from the grill or a hearty vegetarian choice. Take in the beauty of Amador County during your seated patio tasting, featuring several hand-crafted wines from our father-son winemaking team. Enjoy spectacular Sierra views while listening to live music at Iron Hub. Our finely crafted spirits from the Distillery will also be available for a nominal fee. Plus, enjoy Start on Steiner discounts with the purchase of three or more bottles of wine or spirits.

Linsteadt Family Winery

Come visit Linsteadt Family Winery during Spring Into Zin where we will be pouring different vintages of our Estate Zinfandels (along with some of our other award-winning reds), and offering barrel tastings of our unique ‘24 Zinfandel from our fifty year old vines. Nothing pairs better with Zinfandel than barbecue! Guests will be served Texas-style BBQ beef brisket sliders.

Rombauer Vineyards

Join us at Rombauer Vineyards for an unforgettable Spring celebration! Delight in an exquisite food pairing crafted by the talented team at Taste Restaurant, perfectly curated to complement our featured Zinfandel and crisp, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc. Savor the flavors of the season as we pour a selection of our finest wines for you to enjoy on our open, shaded patio. Adding to the vibrant ambiance, we are thrilled to feature live music performed by the band, Handsome DEVIL, bringing their unique sound to our vineyard grounds. We look forward to raising a glass and celebrating the season with you!
