Bespoke Perfume Bar, run by Melissa Ramer under the Alchemy Studio and Spa umbrella, sits on the second floor at 54 Main Street with a balcony that looks out over Sutter Creek’s rooftops. The setting alone makes it memorable, but the real draw is what happens inside: a guided, hands-on fragrance blending session where guests blend and bottle their own custom fragrances. Ramer is a member of Amador County Tourism, and this experience has become one of downtown Sutter Creek’s most distinctive offerings.
Ninety-nine individual fragrance notes are laid out for guests to explore — florals, woods, musks, citrus, and more. You work through them at your own pace, identifying the scents that pull you in, and then a perfumer helps you layer and balance your selections into a finished fragrance. Complimentary refreshments come with the session, and the end result is a custom perfume bottled and labeled as yours alone.
The balcony space doubles as a venue for private perfume parties — birthdays, bridal showers, corporate outings — and Bespoke also operates a portable perfume bar that can travel to weddings, showers, corporate events, and community gatherings anywhere in the region. It is one of the most unusual group activities available in Amador County, and guests consistently leave with both a bottle and a story.
