Bonnie Rood spent thirty years as a horse trainer and thirteen years riding the Pro Rodeo circuit before opening Blondie’s Boutique in April 2011. The career pivot came from a lifelong passion for fashion and consignment shopping, and the result is a high-end consignment shop that has become one of Sutter Creek’s most popular stops for women’s clothing, designer jewelry, purses, shoes, and just about anything pertaining to women’s style.
New pieces arrive almost daily — some brand new with tags still on, others gently pre-owned and carefully selected. Rood’s eye for display and curation keeps the floor fresh and shoppable, so repeat visits tend to pay off. Prices land well below retail for the quality on offer, which is part of the appeal: you can walk out with a designer handbag or a full wardrobe refresh without the designer price tag.
Blondie’s is open five days a week (closed Monday and Wednesday) and accepts consignment items from sellers looking to place their pieces in front of an appreciative audience. At 70 Main Street, the shop sits right in the heart of Sutter Creek’s walkable downtown — a stretch of Gold Rush-era storefronts where the shopping has been good since the 1850s.
