Tucked inside the Creekside Shops complex at 26 Main Street — a dealer-owned co-op of over twenty individual antique and curio spaces — Patricia Stikeleather Art and Photography operates as a quiet creative counterpoint to the surrounding collectibles and vintage finds. The gallery’s compact scale works in its favor. With just a handful of artists represented, including Patricia Stikeleather, Al Thompson, and a few others, every piece gets room to breathe. The work spans fine art, limited edition prints, and photography, much of it rooted in the landscapes and character of the Sierra foothills that surround Amador County.
Patricia Stikeleather and the other artists showing here live and work in the area, and that local perspective comes through clearly in their subject matter and approach. Where the larger galleries along Main Street showcase dozens of artists across wide-ranging mediums, this space offers something more focused — unique images and original works by people who know the terrain intimately. The gallery’s intimate setting means you can take your time with individual pieces rather than feeling overwhelmed by volume, and its location within the Creekside Shops complex makes it a natural pairing with the antique browsing available in the surrounding booths.
